Billing, cancellation and refunds

Who takes the payment
Creem acts as merchant of record: the card charge, the invoice, VAT and sales tax, and any refund all run through Creem. Card details never reach our servers.
Cancelling
Cancel anytime from your account — no email required, no retention maze. Access continues to the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of a charge and we refund that charge in full — no reason needed. A refund ends the subscription immediately: paid features stop working at that point. This is different from cancelling, where access continues to the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are issued through Creem. If a charge went wrong or the service did not work for you, email hello@goutplate.com — the Terms set out the full policy, together with the refund rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

Questions

What exactly does the subscription pay for?
The generator and the grocery list. The food database, all 173 food pages, the level pages and the plate pages stay free — subscription or not, and without an account.
How much is it, and how is it billed?
$79 per year or $10 per month, in US dollars. Annual billing works out to about $6.58 a month; paying monthly for a full year comes to $120, so the annual plan saves $41. Both plans include the same features.
Who takes the payment?
Creem, acting as merchant of record. Creem processes the card charge, issues the invoice, handles VAT and sales tax, and processes refunds. Card details never reach our servers.
Can I stop the subscription?
Yes, at any time from the account page. Access continues until the end of the period already paid for, and the plan does not renew after that.
Can I get a refund?
Ask within 14 days of a charge and we refund that charge in full — no reason needed. It is issued through Creem, together with the original payment. Outside that window, refunds are handled case by case — see the terms.
What happens to my saved plans if I stop?
They stay in your account. You keep read access to the plans you already generated; building new ones needs an active subscription.
Is there a free trial?
No trial and no card up front. The free tier is the database itself: search, all food pages, all level pages and the plate pages, open to anyone.
Where does the data come from?
Purine values: USDA/ODS-NIH Purine Database Release 2.0 (2025). Nutrient values: USDA FoodData Central. Every figure is copied from the source, never estimated, and missing values stay missing.
Is any of this medical advice?
No. The subscription buys tool output — purine and fructose figures attached to the plates you generate. GoutPlate does not provide medical advice; see the full disclaimer.
